Michael smiled in return, his eyes flashing with
suppressed amusement as he reached back in his memory
for the right words, "<Most Holy Asura, may I
introduce the...>" He paused for a moment, searching
for a word,
"<Chatelaine [or whatever the ancient Indian
equivalent is, he's making sure Tess is marked as very
important to Panic and an integral part of his
household] of the Guru Panic's Ashram, and my very old
friend and
companion, Tess>."

Tess was always good at holding her own in nearly any
social situation. Whether in the most upscale,
sophisticated company or hanging out with trailer
trash, she seemed to find the right manner of
conversation - the appropriate language and behavior -
nearly every time. Came with the territory of being a
well-paid whore - Be All Things To All People.

She had no idea what was being said or how these
strange beings knew one another and the mystery of it
scared her a bit, harkening back to former days at the
Dragon when odd languages were the norm. But this was
Michael speaking in an odd tongue and she trusted him.
When the conversation turned to something more
familiar, her polite stare became a polite smile.

"I am rude to her however," Michael nodded to Tess,
"Tess,
may I introduce Columbine, the Harlequin's consort. I
missed the names of her companions the other night
however."

Tess’ smile grew, along with her curiosity. She nodded
at Columbine. “I’ve heard Harle speak of you on many
an occasion. Pleased to finally make your
acquaintance.”
