"It is not 'poaching'.  It is a gift that I offer you.  A small gesture to thank you for your much larger one."

Mara laughs.  "A woman does not really need a man's presence to create a child.  Just the sperm.  Artificial insemination is very popular among women that choose to live an...alternative life style."   Her tone is matter of fact.  While she was a practicing lesbian, she'd never looked into the matter herself, but she knew several that had. "And as for the argument that two parents provide the most optimal family unit, there is no conclusive proof that those parents have to be of the opposite sex.  Sometimes same sex parents can actually provide a better environment."  She pauses, for that was a rant for another time and place.  Though she was fairly certain the Basarabs already knew everything about her.  This identity, at least.  And maybe even the one she'd been born with. Kindred, she'd learned, were extremely resourceful when it came to digging up dirt.

>"Speaking of the Clan, perhaps we ought to discuss your thoughts on a replacement for Arthur Guinness."
 
Mara smiles.  "Well, the situation in Gotham is rather unique, since there are both Camarilla and Anarchs within the city.   The ideal candidate should be able to work with both groups and represent both.  A very difficult balancing act.  Something that I have heard that Guiness did not even attempt."  

>"I am sure it's clear to you that you posses many of the talents for the role yourself?"

Mara ponders the question. "I am one qualified candidate, yes, but what about one from your own House?  Do you not wish to take a more active role in the Clan's leadership?"
